Job Description The Bioanalytical Assay Scientist will support the development, optimization, and execution of bioanalytical methods to enable process development, product characterization, and GMP‑adjacent testing needs. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with cell‑based functional assays, ELISA, qPCR/dPCR, and flow cytometry, as well as strong data analysis and documentation skills. This role requires scientific curiosity, technical depth, and the ability to work both independently and within cross‑functional teams. Responsibilities Design, develop, and execute bioanalytical assays, including: Cell-based functional assays ELISA and other plate-based immunoassays dPCR/qPCR Flow cytometry Perform routine testing to support in‑process control, product characterization, and lot release activities. Optimize assay performance parameters such as specificity, sensitivity, precision, accuracy, and linearity. Support assay qualification, method lifecycle activities, and continuous improvement initiatives. Document experimental procedures, results, and protocols using electronic lab notebooks (e.g., Benchling). Troubleshoot assay and instrumentation issues and implement corrective actions. Collaborate cross-functionally with Process Development, R&D, and Quality teams to support program goals. Author technical documentation including protocols, test methods, technical reports, and SOPs. Qualifications Minimum Required Qualifications B.S. in biological or biochemical sciences (or a related field) with 3–4 years of relevant laboratory experience, or M.S. with 1–2 years of relevant experience. Hands-on proficiency with bioanalytical methods such as: Cell-based functional assays ELISA and multi‑well plate formats qPCR/dPCR Flow cytometry Experience with mammalian cell culture; familiarity with iPSCs is a plus. Proficiency with electronic lab notebooks. Strong organizational skills, communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, matrixed environment. Demonstrated troubleshooting skills and a mindset for continuous improvement. Ability to design experiments, interpret data, maintain accurate records, and follow SOPs and company policies. Ability to work independently while contributing to team objectives; adaptability and a positive, proactive attitude. Preferred Qualifications Experience with multiple analytical techniques across molecular and cellular biology. Familiarity with molecular biology workflows including DNA/RNA handling, RNA-seq, and CRISPR gene editing. Experience with data analysis tools such as GraphPad Prism and FlowJo, and digital platforms such as Benchling, SharePoint, or Veeva. Knowledge of regulatory expectations and ICH guidelines. Flexibility to take on additional responsibilities, including occasional weekend work. Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
