Description

We have an available bioinformatician position in a strong and inspiring research environment at our Biobank Unit at Rigshospitalet. The bioinformatician will have the opportunity to run their own research projects (50%), including working with the largest genetic cohorts in Denmark, and contribute to our current data management and infrastructural projects (50%).

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates for the bioinformatician position must hold a PhD degree in bioinformatics/genetic epidemiology (or equivalent). The successful candidate will have strong qualifications or experience within the majority of the following areas:

  • Previous hands-on experience with large genomics data handling and analysis
  • Experience in health informatics or precision medicine-related research projects
  • Experience in the supervision of PhD students and/or master’s students
  • Strong expertise in programming (R/python)
  • Solid experience with Linux/UNIX operating system, command lines and shell scripting
  • Experience in quality control and analysis of large-scale datasets
  • Basic understanding of human biology and disease development
  • Proficient organizational skills and ability to work individually as well as in teams
  • Excellent communication skills, and fluency in written and spoken English
  • Fluency in Danish is an advantage
