Description

Luther College invites applications for a Science Teacher (.75 – 100 FTE), with duties to commence August 25, 2025, to June 30, 2026. Reporting to the Principal, this position is responsible for teaching biology and health sciences while promoting the best possible school culture for students to excel both inside and outside of the classroom.

The successful candidate, in collaboration with colleagues and administration, will be responsible for:

  • Teaching Saskatchewan Ministry of Education Biology and Health Science curricula and/or other science curricula (and other appropriate subject areas as may be assigned from time to time);
  • Contributing to co-curricular programming;
  • Advancing the educational standards and reputation of the school and the science program;
  • Participating in staff meetings and professional development where deemed necessary by the Principal or designated administration.

QUALIFICATIONS

Preferential consideration will be given to candidates who:

  • Currently hold a Saskatchewan Teacher’s Certificate or are eligible to obtain one by August 2025;
  • Currently hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education;
  • Have successfully taught Biology and Health Science courses at the high school level;
  • Experience teaching International Baccalaureate (IB) classes preferred;
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and enjoy working with high school students;
  • Value teaching in an educational institution informed by the Lutheran heritage of Christian faith and excellence in scholarship, freedom of inquiry and a faithful seeking after truth;
  • Are able to support and enhance the mission, vision, and values of Luther College; and
  • Are able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, including vulnerable sector search, for the duration of employment.
