Pay Information: Internal Hires: Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms. External Hires: This position starts at $35.22 per hour. Step placement and rate of pay will be determined based upon relevant experience. Job Summary: Under the general direction of the Biomedical Equipment Supervisor, performs repairs and calibration on medical and non-medical equipment. Has a good working knowledge of schematics and works independently on repairs, safety testing and preventive maintenance (PM). Maintains records, writes reports, and coordinates outside repairs. Participates in other hospital committees and teams as appropriate. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications for the Job: Biomed Technician 2: Education: Associate Degree in Electronics or related field. Experience: Three (3) years’ experience in biomedical repair in a healthcare setting, OR six (6) years’ experience in biomedical service. Substitution: Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis. Certification(s): CBET certification preferred but not required. License(s): Valid driver’s license at time of appointment and for continued employment Practice Notices: All new employees are required to produce a negative drug screen for all illegal substances in the State of Alaska prior to start of employment.
