Description
Maintains clinical equipment through the effective use of the Medical Equipment Management Plan. Demonstrates a mastery of skills and tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, calibration and repair of complex biomedical equipment. Performs duties and established and recognized standards as adopted by the Association for Advancement of Medical Instrumentation. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital. Essential Functions · Install and configure new biomedical equipment, ensuring proper setup and functionality in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and hospital protocols. · Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on clinical equipment, ensuring all devices are functioning properly and meet safety standards. · Diagnose and repair complex biomedical equipment, including diagnostic devices, patient monitoring systems, and therapeutic devices, ensuring they are promptly restored to service. · Conduct calibration of equipment to ensure accurate readings and proper functioning, adhering to established standards and regulations. · Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and calibration activities, documenting any deviations, corrective actions, and compliance with regulatory requirements. · Ensure all biomedical equipment is in compliance with local, state, and federal safety standards, including adherence to policies for infection control, electrical safety, and equipment performance. · Respond to service calls and customer inquiries, providing technical assistance to clinical staff and addressing any concerns regarding equipment performance. · Provide on-the-job training to junior biomedical equipment technicians, clinical staff, and other hospital personnel, ensuring proper use and understanding of medical devices. · Work closely with healthcare providers and other hospital departments to identify and address equipment needs, ensure that biomedical equipment is integrated effectively into clinical workflows, and enhance patient care. · Participate in hospital-wide efforts to improve clinical equipment usage and patient care, contributing to process improvements, safety enhancements, and efficiency in medical equipment management. Education Associate's Degree Related field Certification Accredited Biomedical Electronics Or Electronic Technical Training Certificates (minimum 3), including networking-related technology. Work Experience and Additional Information Four (4) years of experience managing biomedical equipment
