Description Job Summary: The responsibilities of the Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) - Level 3 is to provide services and documentation for clinical medical devices. The Technician will perform preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance of clinical medical devices and comply with the policies and procedures of the company and customer/client. Must have a proven track record of being able to not only perform planned and corrective maintenance on general devices but also be an expert at imaging and anesthesia devices. Minimum Duties and Responsibilities: Perform operational verification tests, electrical safety checks and install medical devices and/or related devices in facilities. Perform corrective maintenance, incoming inspections and performance verification on medical devices and systems. Perform scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance by inspecting, maintaining, and completing electrical safety testing of medical devices to ensure code compliance and patient safety. Capable of performing acceptance testing for all new medical devices. Establish correct and safe operation of all new devices and ensure that the device meets all manufacturer specifications prior to acceptance. Ensures that the scheduling and completion of all warranty work is accomplished. Provide technical support on all new and replaced medical devices under the department's responsibility. Safety test medical devices and the health care facility’s structural environment to ensure patient and staff safety from electrical or mechanical hazards. Consult with medical or research staff to ascertain that equipment functions properly and safely. Occasionally provide training for other Biomeds. All other responsibilities as assigned. Required Skills and Ability Knowledge of all Biomed medical devices Verbal and written communication skills Interpersonal and customer service skills Organizational skills and attention to detail Valid driver’s license and DOT card Must be COVID-19 vaccinated as well as other immunizations required by our clients Requirements Education and/or Experience: Associate's or Bachelor’s degree from a college or university; or three to five years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Physical Requirements: Routinely lift/lower/carry 1 to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/lower 36 to 49 pounds Driving, walking and standing for extended periods of time
