Job Title: Biomedical Equipment Technician (Job ID: 2953690)
Location: 744 52nd Street, Oakland, CA 94609
Duration: 24 weeks contract w/ possibility of extension

DESCRIPTION:

  • The Biomedical Equipment Technician is responsible for performing safety testing, preventive maintenance, repairs, and pre-acceptance checks on biomedical equipment and systems.
  • This role aims to provide cost-effective maintenance and technical support to ensure the safe and effective use of biomedical equipment in clinical environments.
  • The technician will also monitor and improve the Environment of Care, maintain equipment inventory, and implement plans to enhance equipment reliability while minimizing risks to patients and staff.
  • Perform safety testing and preventive maintenance on biomedical equipment.
  • Conduct repairs and pre-acceptance checks on biomedical systems.
  • Provide technical support for equipment operation and maintenance to clinical staff.
  • Develop and maintain biomedical equipment inventory and history records.
  • Coordinate equipment service inspections and implement reliability improvement plans.
  • Monitor and seek improvements in patient, staff, and facility safety.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Post High School Vocational / Military / Specialized Training as a Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician or military trained Biomedical Equipment Repair Technician.
  • Strong personal computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
  • Excellent English reading, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to use service manuals and schematics for equipment maintenance and repair.
