ONT is seeking a highly motivated Biopharma Specialist to accelerate awareness, adoption, and utilization of nanopore sequencing across biopharma, CROs, and CDMOs. You’ll own executive-level relationships, shape and execute the regional biopharma strategy, and partner cross-functionally to achieve territory growth targets. This role spans strategic planning, high-impact customer engagement, and market development for ONT platforms, applications, and workflows. What You’ll Do Strategy & Execution Co-develop short- and long-term biopharma commercial strategies for AMR aligned to corporate objectives. Lead regional execution within your territory with account managers, technical applications, and leadership. Track performance vs. targets; refine plans to optimize outcomes. Key Customer Engagement Build and manage executive and KOL relationships across high-value accounts. Identify, sponsor, and deliver collaboration opportunities (application/method development and evaluation). Drive customer advocacy and reference programs to expand ONT visibility and influence. Market Activation & Education Increase awareness and utilization through targeted seminars, workshops, and small-group technical sessions. Provide internal enablement and knowledge-sharing on biopharma use cases and trends. Business Intelligence Deliver real-time market and competitive insights; report current/projected business performance. Provide customer-driven input to product, marketing, and commercial planning. Segment Leadership Serve as the local biopharma subject-matter expert—from discovery to manufacturing QC. Articulate how nanopore sequencing features address diverse biopharma applications and clinical-adjacent needs. What You’ll Bring (Essential) Education: Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical or Life Sciences. Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a commercial role within the biopharma market with a proven growth track record. Demonstrated success managing complex, executive-level relationships and developing strategic account plans. Established network across the drug development pipeline (discovery → development → manufacturing/QC). Knowledge/Skills: Strong understanding of biopharma landscape, drivers/barriers to technology adoption, and market dynamics. Familiarity with genomics technologies and their application in biopharma; ability to map ONT capabilities to use cases. Excellent communication (written/verbal), presentation, and stakeholder influence skills. Outstanding organization/time management; effective under pressure in a matrixed sales & service environment. Nice to Have (Preferred) Master’s or PhD in a Biomedical/Life Science discipline. Experience driving commercial growth in emerging markets. Direct exposure to biopharma testing workflows (sample-to-report). Insight into test development/validation challenges using sequencing; familiarity with region-specific market access. Strong commercial orientation, market insight, and negotiation skills. The salary for this role is between $113,243 and $161,775 USD . The salary offered will reflect the skills and experience of the candidate. Certain roles within ONT are eligible for annual bonus and stock.
