This position is eligible for discounted downtown parking, free employee meals, DailyPay, hotel and restaurant discounts and more. SUMMARY Has the bar knowledge to properly sell and answer questions about liquor, wine and beer. Must follow the Marriott drink standards. Also responsible for following the expectations of AHC and Marriott Corporate including following QA standards. Create a teamwork environment in the Bistro and produce quality service to each guest. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS   · Must be comfortable engaging guests and starting conversations with strangers. · Must be comfortable recognizing when someone is intoxicated and needs to no longer be served. · Must help the servers when needed. Help to create a team environment in the bistro. · Understand y set up and/or breakdown of the bistro by following daily checklists · Know and understand all menu item and its ingredients · Explain and Maintain QA specs. Teach correct service lingo according to QA standards. · Explain and Maintain Health Department Specs. Fill out daily temp logs, rotate product first in, first out and record/dispose of expired product on the waste log · Explains all facets of job responsibilities and displays the skills necessary to complete tasks · Reports to work on time and rarely misses scheduled shifts. Correctly follow the department attendance policy · Participates in department meetings and communicates freely expressing ideas, opinions or views. Communicates with management and other staff members · Displays a positive courteous and polite attitude, works well with others · Takes pride in their appearance and reports to work in complete uniform, wearing the proper shoes and socks professionally dressed and neatly groomed · Displays a sense of urgency and the ability to resolve guest concerns or department issues on their own · Utilize time well and is productive throughout the entire shift while meeting department standards · Looks for ways to save money by reducing waste and controlling expenses. Also tries to generate more revenues by offering ideas and suggestive selling to the guest whenever possible · Keeps work area neat and clean. Can be found picking up trash in public and back of the house areas of the Hotel. Knows where to recycle items for the department and consistently places them in the appropriate bins and recycling stations · Follow the AHC safety standards of our hotel · Associate to attend TIPS training and properly card guests who appear under 40 years of age.   DAILY RESPONSIBILITES    · Answering the telephone, taking room service and delivery orders. Preparing these orders accurately and delivering following QA guidelines. · Actively taking care of each guest according to Marriott standards and department standards · Monitoring food waste · Maintain Bistro cleanliness and overall deep cleaning · Attending Department Meetings · Communicating with your management or team members · Follow our hotel green policies · Following Marriott and Health Department Specs · Actively work in the bistro in designated area: counter service, barista, running food, tables service, room service · Any other additional responsibilities that may be asked by General Manager or Food and Beverage Manager   QUALIFICATIONS Must have some restaurant experience     EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE  High school diploma or GED; related experience and/or training   PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
