Overview:
Peak Cellars is located on a 7-acre property down the road from OFE, and is home to our Goldie Road Vineyard. Wine isn’t the only thing the property produces; the half-acre organic vegetable garden and two greenhouses supply the highest quality fruits and vegetables for the Garden Bistro.
RESPONSABILITIES
The main responsibilities of Host include:
- Greet guests and enthusiastically represent our brand, providing service that goes above and beyond the expectations of our guests.
- Continually learn information about organizational menus, be comfortable with the different options and experiences available for our guests, winemaking practices, wine club memberships, and events across the entire organization.
- Adhere to Health and Safety policies and procedures outlined in the Health and Safety Program.

ROLE SCOPE
The scope of all Host roles is to provide professional, timely and memorable experiences for guests across all properties.
Role Type: Seasonal, full-time, part-time
Location: Lake Country, BC (Near Kelowna)
Reports to: Front of House Manager, Assistant Bistro Manager, Tasting Room & Wine Club coordinator
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE HOST INCLUDE
- Maintain a neat, organized front-of-house environment, and create a positive and welcoming experience for all guests.
- Work with the Bistro Management Team to ensure that all reasonable guest requests are actioned.
- Work with the Bistro Management Team to maximize seating, with the goal of accommodating every request for either in the Tasting Room or Garden Bistro.
- Answer phones and schedule reservations according to reservation policy.
- Check voice messages, and respond to inquiries, or pass along the information to the appropriate team/person.
- Use Tock to coordinate Bistro Reservations and Tasting/Tour Appointments.
- Register guests (small groups) without an appointment into our appointment system.
- Control seating and initiate a wait list to ensure an even and steady workflow for the culinary team.
- Rotate seating between server sections (when applicable) to ensure even workloads for all.
- Collaborate with other hosts, servers, tasting room and management teams to ensure that Bistro tables are cleared, cleaned and ready the next seating of guests.
- Assist guests with retail purchases, including taking payments
- Alert the assigned server if a guest has made a request.
- Report any unsatisfied guest to a Manager.
- Assist with pouring water for guests, and ensuring that water bottle levels are always at least half-way full.
- Ensure washrooms are clean and that adequate supplies are stocked throughout every shift.
- Arrange tables for large parties and reservations.
- Assist with glassware polishing
