Join our Road Science team as a Bitumen Plant Operator based in New Plymouth.
As a Bitumen Plant Operator, you’ll be responsible for the efficient and safe operation of the continuous high productivity at our bitumen emulsion manufacturing plant. This will include active involvement in manufacturing activities, day to day operations, safety and environmental awareness and plant maintenance.
This is a full time, permanent position with the occasional requirement of overtime/weekend shifts.
You’ll also be responsible:
- Working collaboratively as part of a close team
- Making sure we’ve got the raw material to keep up with customer demands
Ensuring plant is constantly maintained and looked afterPaperwork – can’t escape it (ever). You’ll be completing plant performance logs and keeping plant management systems up to date
NGA PŪKENGA MATUA | IMPORTANT SKILLS
You will have a ‘can do’ attitude and a proactive outlook combined with an ability to work within a small team will see you right in this role. You’ll also be physically fit, not afraid of heights (those towers can be pretty tall at times) and comfortable in confined spaces too.
You’ll also bring:
- Some solid experience in manufacturing would be high regarded, preferably in bituminous or chemical production
- A logical and common sense approach to operating a computer controlled plant (No Homer Simpson types need apply)
An uncompromising focus on safety, health and environmentAn F endorsement for forklift operation would be advantageous
