Position Description: JOB TITLE: Blending Room Operator
REPORTS TO: Blending Room Supervisor
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt, Hourly
POSITION SUMMARY: Blends flour and other ingredients according to specific formulas for our various breadings, marinades and products of a similar nature. Weighs, packages and loads boxes on skids for shipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
Must have good basic math skills.
Must be able to become a certified forklift operator.
General Education Diploma.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs. without assistance.
Must be able to stand for up to eight (8) hours at a time.
Must be able to bend, squat, reach, push, pull, climb, and walk

May assist in unloading sacks of flour and salt when received.
Moves sacks of flour, salt, etc. from storeroom to blending room using fork lift.
Moves sacks from fork lift to blending machine. Cuts sacks open and dumps specified amount of flour and other ingredients into the mixer. Starts mixer.
Records amount of ingredients in each batch.
Sets up boxes and lines with plastic bags to be used in packaging product.
After ingredients have gone through mixer, opens gate to allow blended product to flow from mixer into plastic lined boxes to a specified weight. Plastic bags are twist tied shut and boxes are taped.
Boxes move down conveyor belt and are loaded by hand onto pallet. Full pallets are moved by pallet jack to the shipping area.
Labels boxes with different product labels.
Cleans and sanitizes the blending room as needed.
All other duties, as assigned.
