FlexStaff is seeking a night shift Blood Bank Lab Technologist for our client, located in Brooklyn.    12am-8am, Monday - Friday, alternating weekends    The Blood Bank Technologist performs routine and complex immunohematology tests, including blood typing, antibody identification, and crossmatching/   Responsibilities Testing: Conducts complex laboratory procedures for diagnosis and treatment, ensuring accuracy in blood, plasma, and component testing. Blood Banking: Focuses on transfusion services, including crossmatching, antibody screening, and issuing blood components. Quality Control: Performs, records, and reviews daily quality control on instruments and reagents, ensuring compliance with laboratory protocols. Equipment Maintenance: Operates and maintains laboratory instruments, conducting troubleshooting as needed. Documentation: Maintains accurate records and logs for all tests and blood products handled, following regulatory guidelines.    Qualifications License: Must possess a valid Clinical Laboratory Technologist license issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED). Experience: Requires previous blood bank experience, preferably in a hospital setting. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field. Skills: Ability to exercise independent judgment and work with minimal supervision.
