Performs a wide range of clinical Blood Bank laboratory testing in an accurate and timely fashion by utilizing technical and problem-solving skills in conjunction with a thorough knowledge of clinical laboratory principles. Maintains effective communications and transfers testing and pending follow-ups between employees and shifts following all CHAMP and HRO standards. Maintains all Quality Control and Quality Assurance standards at all times. Maintains operational effectiveness and assumes full responsibility for continuing education requirements, licensure, and expertise to adapt as needed to an expanding department with increased testing complexity.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION

BS Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biological Science or equivalent ASCP eligible or equivalent

Excellent communication skills and customer service skills. Basic computer skills. Understanding of High Complexity serological testing for antibody identification. Understanding of blood compatibility and components. Consistently interacts with coworkers and customers in a positive manner.
