Starting pay is $19.25 hour which includes a $1.50 hr. shift premium. In addition, there is a skill-based pay wage program for this job each level achieved adds $0.50 hour to your base wage up to $26.98/hr. (plus shift premium) based on your ability to learn each of the six phases of the job. The Blown Films operator meets production requirements to fulfill customer orders for rolls of plastic/plastic film and ensure production meets quality standards. The shift is from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. The schedule works as follows: Work 2 days, off 2 days; work 3 days, off 2 days; work 2 days; then off 3 days, and repeat. Shift schedule example: Week One: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday. Week Two: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday. In other words, 48 hours one week, 36 hours the next. Plascon is a manufacturer of specialty plastic packing that is used in the food service, institutional and pharmaceutical industries. Requirements Reads work orders, specifications and instructions to determine materials, additives and adjustments needed for extrusion or machine set-up. Operates machinery according to user instructions. Sets rolls and threads rolls through machine. Follows quality control requirements; visually inspects finished product for quality. Cleans production area at the end of each shift. Weighs scrap materials. Enters production information into an Excel spreadsheet on a computer Packages and labels product as needed. Prints labels as needed. Monitors machine operations and observe lights and gauges. Performs basic maintenance as needed, if further repairs are needed communicates with Lead Films Operator.
