POSITION TITLE: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Independent Contractor
LOCATION: Delaware County, PA
REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Provide assessment and ongoing behavior support to school students and young adults receiving residential services in Delaware County.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Certification: Required - Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (as certified by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
  2. Education: Required - Master’s Degree in applied behavior analysis, special education, psychology or related discipline. 8-hour supervision course required for any BCBA who will be supervising RBTs or BCBAs.
  3. Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Expert knowledge of intervention planning for developing behavior change strategies that focus on reducing maladaptive behaviors and increasing adaptive behaviors. Preferred: Experience providing in-home services, experience with dangerous maladaptive behavior, experience with various assessments such as the VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, AFLS, Vineland, etc., and experience with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
    ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBA) and skills assessments and create behavior support plans (BSP) based on the results. Train staff and caregivers on the implementation of the BSP and any data collection procedures within the plan. Oversee the implementation of the BSP and provide ongoing training and feedback to staff and caregivers. Document feedback provided to agency staff and provide this documentation to the supervisors of both the BCBA and the staff. Create a note at the end of each session to document the services provided during that time and send note to the supervisor immediately following each session (session notes received later than 5pm on Friday will not be included in this week’s billing).
    OTHER PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Work collaboratively with agency staff to promote positive client behavior. Demonstrate expertise in collection and behavior analysis. Demonstrate behavior management procedures and/or techniques. Provide training in the use of data collection, positive behavior supports, intervention techniques and instructional methodologies for staff and caregivers. Train and support staff and caregivers to teach novel skills and maintain acquired skills. Develop materials and provide resources and professional development to administrators, staff and caregivers. Attend IEP/ISP, eligibility, or other meetings as necessary and provide related behavioral information. Work with clients who exhibit maladaptive/unexpected behaviors and provide support and training on de-escalation to staff and caregivers Travel to various sites as required for observations, functional behavioral assessments, behavior support plans, or programmatic recommendations for individual clients. Engage caregivers and stakeholders in the process of creating behavior programs for clients to empower families by providing them with skills and techniques to support the positive behavior development of their relative. Conduct functional behavior assessments and educational assessments, accurately identifying the function of challenging behavior and socially valid, pivotal behaviors to target. Develop behavior support plans that recommend individualized, evidence-based behavioral strategies in a format accessible to staff, caregivers, other professionals. Develop strong collaborative relationships and train caregivers and agency staff to implement effective techniques across all environments, promoting progress and generalization. Provide ongoing training of agency staff, ensuring treatment integrity and supporting the professional growth of staff. Monitor progress and evaluate treatment effectiveness regularly, changing/updating the plan as needed. Identify behavior goals and intervention techniques utilizing non-aversive behavior change methods. Select intervention and strategies according to the needs, desires, and abilities of the individual. Complete reports and other paperwork within the established timeframes. Participate in meetings as appropriate with agencies, human rights committees, etc. Assist in other areas as needed. Complete other duties as assigned.
    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES The purpose of supervision is to improve and maintain the behavior-analytic, professional, and ethical repertoires of supervisees to facilitate the delivery of high-quality behavior-analytic services. Effective behavior-analytic supervision includes:
    Development of performance expectations Observation, behavioral skills training, and delivery of performance feedback Modeling technical, professional, and ethical language and behavior Guiding behavioral case conceptualization, problem-solving, and decision-making repertoires Review of written materials (e.g., behavior programs, datasheets, reports) Oversight and evaluation of the effects of behavioral service delivery

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Technical: Must be able to utilize Google Suite, including but not limited to, Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.. Must be able to graphically represent data in a variety of ways (line graphs, bar charts, scatterplots, etc.) and select the appropriate graphical representation for each dataset. Must be willing to learn to use new technological systems as introduced at the company.
Interpersonal: The BCBA must exhibit excellent communication skills and be able to work collaboratively with staff, clients, caregivers, and other stakeholders. Must be able to model and provide feedback in a positive manner. Must have strong organizational skills. Must be able to maintain harmonious relationships with staff, clients, and caregivers.
