QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • BCBA required Master’s degree in Psychology or related field required.
  • A Master’s Degree in Social Work, ABA, Psychology, Special Education or other disciplines as may be approved by the Executive Director.
  • Extremely strong organizational, writing, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Creativity and flexibility are essential in assuming significant responsibility.
  • Experience working in racially, ethnically, and socioeconomically diverse communities working with developmental disabilities preferred.
  • The Behaviorist may be required to complete mandatory DHS training. Training is provided at no charge.
  • Employee must cooperate with the licensee and department staff in any inspection or investigation.
  • Employee must successfully complete and demonstrate proficiency in all areas of required training.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Development and implementation of new support services to meet the changing needs of persons receiving services.
  • Provide training in implementing formal comprehensive behavior support plans.
  • Develops, monitors and trains staff on Behavior Support Plans.
  • Develop behavior intervention strategies with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) in accordance with APluscare policies and procedures.
  • Intervene during a behavioral crisis
  • Understand and implement current DHS rules and regulations, policies and procedures
  • Assistcooperate in inspections and investigations of any sort, including investigations by APluscare and/or DHS Consulting with direct care and supervisory staff to ensure that daily activity schedules are adequate to meet the needs of the individuals.
  • Act as a liaison with parents, staff and DHS staff to ensure the continuum of care and support for members
  • Participate in after- hour on-call rotation in cooperation with other APluscare staff
  • All other duties as assigned by APluscare.
