Who We Serve North Bay Regional Center provides advocacy, services, support, and care coordination to children and adults diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families in Napa, Sonoma and Solano counties. We partner with community-based organizations and agencies to empower our clients to thrive and live as independently as possible within the geographically, culturally, and ethnically diverse communities we serve. North Bay Regional Center serves over 12,000 people living within the geographic boundaries of Napa, Sonoma and Solano counties. North Bay Regional Center is a nonprofit private corporation that contracts with the Department of Developmental Services to coordinate services and support for individuals with developmental disabilities. At NBRC, we’re promoting opportunities by supporting choices for people with developmental disabilities. Note: Bilingual Spanish/English skills are preferred. DEFINITION: Under the direction of the Clinical and Intake Director, the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) develops, implements and monitors behavioral services for individuals served to ensure safety, positive behavioral changes and continuity of service delivery. Closely interfaces with individuals served, service providers, staff and other behavior service providers. Requirements MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Completion of a Master's Degree in social work, psychology, education, special education, or a related field preferred, Bachelor’s degree required. 3-5 years experience post-certification as a BCBA, with at least one year of experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities. KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: · Individual must be certified as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), with a varied behavior services background and experience. (e.g., direct intervention; clinic intervention, behavior supports for various service providers, etc.) · Have a background working with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities in developing positive behavior strategies. · Utilize superior interpersonal communication and advocacy skills in meetings. · Have strong computer skills, with experience in Microsoft Office and electronic charting. · Perform behavior assessment of needs of individuals served · Work in concert with individuals served by NBRC, as well as their families, NBRC case management and clinical staff and service providers to ensure health, safety and positive behavioral change is met in a quality setting. · Possess the ability to positively and productively participate in the resource development process and identification of community resources · Have knowledge of the California Code of Regulations Titles 17 and 22; behavior assessment and intervention; development of behavior plans for direct support; accessing behavior supports through managed care, etc. · Play an integral role in increasing the quality of our clients’ lives. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: · Ability to provide personal automobile transportation, or access to another form of reliable transportation, during and after working hours. · Provide minimum automobile liability insurance as required by California Law. · Ability to regularly travel to all NBRC offices within catchment area to provide employee training and support to individuals served, as needed. · Must be able to occasionally travel to attend meetings outside of catchment area, including occasional overnight travel to attend statewide meetings, to participate in dental clinic observations, and to develop new resources. · If operating own vehicle, must provide minimum automobile liability insurance as required by California Law. · Flexibility in work hours is required to meet the needs of the regional center constituency. · This position will be primarily based in the office; however, a hybrid work arrangement may also be available. · Fluency in a language in addition to English is desirable and may be required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: · Work in concert with individuals served, their families, NBRC case management and clinical staff and service providers to ensure that health, safety and positive behavioral change is met in a quality setting, traveling across three counties, as needed. Provide oversight of specialized behavioral homes which require ongoing monitoring, review, and documentation which is reviewed on a monthly basis by the Department of Developmental Services (DDS). · Perform documentation review and observation as needed to determine individual support needs. · Conduct meetings, interviews, and evaluations and interpret and document the information. · Represent the agency's philosophy, policies, and standards in a professional manner in the community and in the office. · Consult with vendors, prospective vendors, and community agencies regarding program development and standards. · Evaluate the quality of programs which serve people who have developmental disabilities. · Visit individuals served in their homes and day programs. · Understand and utilize sound case management and counseling principles. · Actively participate in all team/unit meetings and required trainings. · Maintain current workload with complete and accurate documentation. · Interact tactfully and effectively with those contacted in the course of the work. · Communicate effectively in person, on the telephone and in writing. · Organize, prioritize, and coordinate work activities. · Read, interpret and follow complex policies, procedures, laws and regulations. · Perform work under stressful conditions, as required. · Use initiative and sound, independent judgment within established guidelines. · Make sound decisions with a minimum of direction. · Analyze and find effective solutions to problems. · Attend meetings in and out of the office with punctuality. · Maintain a high level of personal and professional conduct. · Adhere to a reliable work schedule, i.e. punctuality in reporting to work and in using consistent sign-out methods. · Accurate and timely recording on time sheet and mileage forms. · Notify supervisor of schedule changes, i.e., use of accrued time-off benefits. · Other duties as assigned. A note regarding NBRC’s expectations regarding remote, hybrid, and home-based work… All employment at NBRC requires face-to-face, in-person interactions with NBRC clients, family members, community, and co-workers. Candidates for employment must live within commute distance to their preferred NBRC office, as well as the geographical location of their assigned clients. While 100% remote work is not available to NBRC employees, a hybrid work arrangement with a blend of in-office and home-based work may be available for new employees after successfully demonstrating achievement of performance expectations following at least 3 months of in-office work.
