Description Posterity Group LLC is a veteran owned, service-disabled small business, headquartered in Rockville, MD, that specializes in federal government contracting and staffing. We are tasked with staffing The Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center with Board Certified/Eligible General Surgeons. The General Surgeons are expected to do the following: VA Business Hours: Normal business hours Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. On call duties as required Clinic Responsibilities: shall be present on time for any scheduled clinics/surgeries start times as documented by physical presence in the clinic or OR at the scheduled start time. Communication of Test Results: Mechanisms must be in-place to provide notification of test results for patients receiving care in accordance with VHA Directive 1088, Communicating Test Results to Providers and Patients. Medications: shall follow all established medication policies and procedures. No sample medications shall be provided to patients. Discharge education: Provide discharge education and follow up instructions that are coordinated with the next care setting for all GENERAL SURGERY clinical or surgical patients. Requirements Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. at least 3 years of experience Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Responsibilities
The General Surgeon is responsible for conducting clinics and surgeries while ensuring timely presence in the OR. Key duties include communicating test results to patients and providing comprehensive discharge education.
