JOB OVERVIEW

HydroSurv is seeking a skilled boat builder / USV outfit techncian to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong background in the marine industry, with the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. This role requires a high degree of workmanship and hands-on skills to ensure new-build and refit projects are completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience in the marine industry is required to be considered for the role
  • Strong mechanical engineering skills and technical acumen
  • Ability to be self-motivated and work as a part of team
  • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
  • Good physical fitness, as the role may require manual handling and working in confined spaces

Responsibilities
  • Install marine fittings, equipment and systems according to specification
  • Operate hand tools and power tools safely
  • Set to work and commission systems, conducting quality checks on assembled products to ensure compliance with acceptance plans
  • Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations
  • Collaborate with team members and work effectively to meet deadlines
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with other team members and customers
  • Assist in carrying out vessel trials and field work
  • Troubleshoot any issues that arise during the assembly process or commissioning
