Description
Company Description Manly Fast Ferry and Fantasea Cruising are an integral part of Sydney’s transport and tourism system, but they are more than that. They are a part of Sydney’s identity adding to the vibrant tapestry of the finest harbour in the world. Our Fantasea Cruising business complements the ferry services with its leisure-oriented experiences connecting Circular Quay and Darling Harbour to Taronga Zoo, popular daily Sightseeing Cruise, as well as seasonal whale watching cruises, special event packages and private charters. Our marine entities operate under the NRMA Group, one of Australia’s most iconic and trusted brands, that is proudly member-owned. Job Description What you’ll do As a Boat Host, you’ll be the face and voice of our sightseeing cruises — ensuring every guest enjoys an engaging, informative and memorable experience on Sydney Harbour. Your “office” will be one of the most iconic and picturesque waterways in the world. This is a casual role based on a 7-day rotating roster, with availability required between 8am–5pm, including weekends, public holidays, and special events. Your responsibilities will include: Delivering live commentary throughout the sightseeing cruise, sharing engaging stories and insights about Sydney’s landmarks, history, and culture. Greeting passengers as they board, assisting with embarkation and disembarkation, and ensuring a warm and professional welcome for all guests. Maintaining an upbeat, friendly presence throughout the cruise and ensuring passengers feel comfortable and well-informed. Working closely with the Captain and crew to maintain smooth onboard operations and uphold safety standards. Capturing photo and video content during cruises to support the marketing and social media teams in promoting our experiences. Assisting with the presentation and cleanliness of the vessel before and after each cruise. What You’ll Bring A confident and engaging public speaking style with the ability to deliver commentary to groups of all sizes. Strong interpersonal and communication skills — able to connect with diverse audiences and make guests feel welcome. A passion for Sydney Harbour, tourism, and storytelling, with an eagerness to share your local knowledge. Previous experience in customer service, tour guiding, or hospitality will be highly regarded. A professional, well-presented and approachable demeanor. Ability to work independently while being a reliable and cooperative team player. A proactive attitude and willingness to assist with a range of onboard tasks as needed. Interest or basic skill in content creation, photography or videography is a plus. General knowledge of Sydney’s landmarks and marine environment will be highly regarded.
