Description The Boatyard Diver performs underwater inspection, monitoring, and support activities related to vessel positioning, structural integrity, and safety within the boatyard. This role focuses on underwater observation, reporting, and assistance during haul-outs, launches, and vessel storage, with particular attention to keel blocks, vessel supports, and underwater components. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform visual inspection of sling areas prior to hauling Ability to install padding and chaffing gear as necessary to protect both hull and lifting equipment. Be able to identify and report structural damage prior to lifting. Maintain dive equipment, tools, and safety gear in proper working condition Assist with emergency response or salvage operations when required Requirements Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: Job Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Physical stamina and ability to lift and handle equipment Comfortable working around heavy machinery, vessels, and marine traffic Ability to work in low visibility, confined, and cold-water conditions Frequent standing, balancing, walking, climbing ladders or equipment, reaching above shoulder or out in front, manual dexterity, pushing, pulling, kneeling, bending, seeing, hearing and Physical ability to lift, push, pull and carry 50+ lbs., While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, talk or hear. The vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Hearing warning signals and reading and comprehending safety instructions. Must be able to maintain general safety awareness and avoid hazards commonly present in employee’s work area.
