Job Purpose: Manage technician team who are responsible for performing vehicle body repairs, keep running of the body shop in accordance to SOP that assure target achievement, maximum productivity, quality and profitability. Responsibilities: ▪ Maximize the use of all available resources to ensure the department is run in the most effective manner ▪ Supervise the body shop technicians and facilities to assure that they follow the proper repair order flow to satisfy customer, parts department and business office and deliver a positive customer experience. ▪ Make every reasonable effort to ensure that vehicle repair is a pleasant customer experience by guiding and motivating B&P technicians. ▪ Ensure that all necessary B&P shop equipment is in proper and safe working condition. ▪ Obtain the special tools and equipment necessary to perform repairs according to the manufacturer recommendations ▪ Know and understand the dealership’s warranty policies and procedures. ▪ Cross-train the B&P personnel to cover different roles inside the department to cover any manpower shortage effectively and efficiently ▪ Realign B&P employees, who fail to adhere to instructions, company policies etc. ▪ Report to management any circumstances that compromise the integrity, security or financial position of the dealership. ▪ Set a high standard for shop cleanliness, equipment repair and general shop appearance and require that it be maintained. ▪ Schedule preventive maintenance of shop equipment. ▪ Organize and maintain proper use of the B&P department’s designated parking areas. ▪ Analyze and eliminate practices that waste supplies, utilities, space and time. Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent. 3-5 years of experience in B&P operation in a reputable dealership. Good understanding of automotive systems. Fluent written and spoken English. Knowledge of procedures for parts volume order processing, logistics. Knowledge of inventory control & Stock management. MB brand experience is a plus. Latest B&P repairs equipment, suppliers and repair techniques. Knowledge of sales techniques and methodologies. Ability to use the MB Parts Catalogue and Knowledge of parts operating systems preferred.
Responsibilities
Manage the body and paint workshop technician team to ensure efficient vehicle repairs, high productivity, and quality standards. Oversee shop operations, equipment maintenance, and adherence to manufacturer SOPs to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.
