Description The Body Shop Estimator is responsible for assessing vehicle damage and preparing accurate repair estimates. This role involves working closely with customers, insurance companies, and the body shop team to ensure a smooth repair process from start to finish. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, attention to detail, and experience in collision repair estimating software. Requirements Key Responsibilities: Greet customers and gather information to assess their repair needs Inspect damaged vehicles and document all necessary repairs Prepare detailed repair estimates using estimating software (e.g., CCC One, Audatex) Submit estimates to insurance companies and negotiate approvals Explain repair estimates and processes to customers in a clear, professional manner Coordinate with technicians, parts department, and management to ensure timely repairs Follow up on repair status and keep customers updated throughout the process Ensure all required documentation and photos are submitted and filed properly Maintain knowledge of current industry repair standards and procedures Provide excellent customer service and ensure satisfaction with repair experience Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree or trade certification preferred) 2+ years of experience as a body shop estimator or in a related role Familiarity with estimating software (CCC One, Audatex, Mitchell, etc.) Knowledge of collision repair procedures and insurance claim processes Strong organizational and time management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Valid driver’s license and clean driving record Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and inspect vehicles for extended periods Ability to work in varying weather conditions Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs Work Environment: Fast-paced, customer-focused environment Interaction with customers, technicians, insurance adjusters, and dealership staff
