Description Thomas Automotive Full Time Body Shop Estimator Job Description Position Information: The full time Body Shop Estimator is responsible for preparing repair estimates for damaged vehicles. This position also communicates with insurance company adjusters, body shop technicians, and customers. Successfully Maintain the following accountabilities Perform New Estimate processing Submit supplements to insurance companies Maintain an effective and efficient parts flow Monitor and improve Customer Satisfaction Duties and Responsibilities: Greet every customer, every day Maintain high ethical standards when dealing with customers, co-workers and vendors Put safety first. Adhere to all Safety Policies, Procedures and Personal Protective Equipment standards Prepare repair estimates for damaged vehicles in an accurate and timely manner Effectively communicate with customers about the status of their vehicle Organize work and be able to prioritize daily duties Write repair estimates for damaged vehicles Utilize software and mobile devices to expediate estimate accuracy and efficiency Review estimate with shop co-workers for proper cost and efficient repair plan Communicate with insurance company adjusters and respective customers Coordinate parts ordering and proper follow up Coordinate supplemental work as needed for respective jobs Communicate with customers as needed Coordinate and schedule approved estimates with team and coworkers Maintain a safe and clean workspace, as well as ensuring the entire facility is orderly, clean and free of hazards Requirements Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver’s license in state of residence. Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information. Working knowledge of all aspects of repairs for damaged body parts and bodies of vehicles. Ability to interpret vendor catalogs. Two years of experience as a vehicle collision estimator or job related training preferred. Must be a reliable, efficient and responsible individual with a positive attitude. Working Conditions: This is a physically demanding position. Will stand six to eight hours per shift. Will lift parts weighing up to 70 pounds. Will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, paint, and other hazardous and nonhazardous materials.
