JOB OVERVIEW

BOH Supervisors are responsible for assisting in the daily operation of the pastry kitchen including providing leadership to all the pastry staff, and training in the creation and production of in-house pastries.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 1-2 years of customer service experience is a requirement.
  • A minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience is a requirement.
  • Café experience is a strong asset.
  • Food Handler and Smart Serve are requirements.
  • Understanding of cafe operational procedures.
  • Strong leadership - effective communication and interpersonal skills in English.
  • Positive attitude and excellent customer-oriented approach.
  • Team player – assist in a positive guest experience however necessary.
  • Innovative, detail oriented, and quality conscious.
  • Effective decision-making skills.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule.
  • Ability to work standing up for 8-hour shifts.
  • Ability on occasion to lift up to 40lbs unassisted and carry as required.
  • Ability to lift and turn throughout the shift.
  • Ability to twist, turn, reach, and work above shoulder level.
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures. (low temperatures)
    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
    Pay: $19.00-$20.00 per hour
    Expected hours: No more than 44 per week

Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily production from the pastry kitchen to ensure proper presentation and preparation.
  • Prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guides, according to departmental standards.
  • Establish priority items for the day.
  • Inspect the cleanliness and working conditions of all tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment and tools only as intended, properly and safely.
  • Monitor food temperatures. Report any discrepancies.
  • Maintain inventory, stock levels, supplies, and equipment. Order supplies and equipment if necessary.
  • Supervise pastry cooks and train new staff.
  • Comply and action all health, food safety and hygiene standards and policies.
  • Provide customer service by following standards if necessary.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
