Position Summary As a BOH Team Member at Good Ambler's 2 North Riverside location, you will play an integral role in supporting daily kitchen operations and preparing a variety of baked goods and café offerings. You'll assist with baking pastries, preparing sandwiches and salads, packing wholesale orders, and completing basic pastry prep while working alongside a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assisting with baking pastries and other baked goods Preparing sandwiches, salads, and other café menu items Completing basic pastry prep, including cookies, muffins, and other bakery items Packing and organizing wholesale orders for distribution Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, including dishwashing, trash removal, sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing work areas Following food safety and sanitation standards Collaborating with the team and stepping in where needed to support daily operations Requirements About You: Previous kitchen, bakery, or food service experience is preferred but not required Able to reliably arrive for scheduled shifts beginning at 5:00 AM Must have or be willing to obtain a food handler's certification Reliable and able to commit to a consistent schedule, including early morning start times as needed Able to work efficiently while maintaining a clean and organized workspace Able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment Comfortable working independently while also being a supportive team member Open to feedback and eager to learn new skills Able to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing and walking for up to 10 hours, lifting up to 50 lbs., and performing repetitive kitchen tasks Comfortable working in an environment with potential allergens, including peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, eggs, and dairy Position Details & Benefits Job Type: Full-Time, Hourly Schedule: Approximately 30-35 hours per week. Monday through Friday with a 5:00 AM start time. Compensation: $17.05/hour + Tips Paid leave and paid sick leave in accordance with Chicago requirements.
