  DESCRIPTION:   The lead boiler technician will be responsible for ensuring safety, quality and state standards are maintained regarding two 250 horsepower and one 150 horsepower gas fired boilers.    RESPONSIBILITIES:   * Fires boilers, operates all auxiliary equipment such as compressors, pumps, and provides a continuous supply of steam to the factory. * Reads and interprets meter and gauges, records findings, adjusts equipment to maintain desired pressure and temperatures. * Repairs / replaces defective piping, controls, pumps, and other parts of the boiler plant as needed. * Keeps and maintains shift logs as required. * Cleans, paints, and maintains work area as required. * Works in a neat, professional manner recognizing the safety and health of themselves and others. * Is aware of all policies and procedures as outlined in the standard operating procedures. * Performs all other responsibilities and tasks as assigned. * Follows good manufacturing practices and QA protocols with minimal guidance from manager * Immediately communicates all operational and/or safety issues to Operations Supervisor to avoid accidents and unnecessary downtime. Issues that may adversely affect start-up, cause downtime, or could result in an accident. * Adheres to all operations procedures and maintains a safe working environment * Conducts daily equipment inspection to ensure proper functionality. Tasks include but not limited to machine disassembly, reassembly, troubleshoots, repairs and replacement of malfunctioning parts  * Provides regulatory and preventive maintenance of machinery to improve and sustain efficiency, quality and operations * Installs and facilitates new equipment * Follows communication protocols on equipment conditions  * Maintains a positive working relationship with fellow team members and other departments * Performs any other job related duties as requested by the Operations Supervisor REPORTS TO: Facilities Manager  SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:   * Hold a 3rd class engineers License * Minimum 3-5 years of related work experience * Technical School, ASET, AAS or equivalent educational background * Must be able to work with precision assemblies and knows how to use mechanical measurement tools * Good organizational skills and an ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously required * Strong analytical and problem solving skills * Ability to work within cross-functional teams * Demonstrates ability to consistently meet proposed objective timelines * Excellent communication skills  * Must exhibit professionalism and maturity and display desire to succeed, be self-motivated and proactive required * Working knowledge of Food Safety, HACCP, SSOP, GMP’s, LOTO and other guidelines  * High School Diploma / GED preferred * Flexibility to work on weekends and overtime   * Must have basic math and computer skills.   I have read the Essential Elements - Job Functions Assessment - Job Requirements and I can meet these essential requirements with or without reasonable accommodations.             ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­                   __________________________________                                                                ___________________                    Employee Signature                                                                                                       Date     *Job Descriptions are not intended to be exhaustive lists of all responsibilities, skills or efforts.
