SALARY: $42,000.00 Annually OPENING DATE: 11/18/2025 CLOSING DATE: 12/9/2025 11:59 p.m. UNIT: Teamsters DEPARTMENT: Facilities Maintenance REPORTS TO: Supervisor, Custodial Services PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Performs routine checks of the College’s boilers. 2. Cleans all floor areas in designated work locations, including vacuuming, shampooing, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, waxing, and/or buffing. 3. Dusts, cleans, and/or polishes furniture and fixtures. 4. Checks and replaces necessary lavatory supplies. 5. Assists in the moving of furniture, supplies, and miscellaneous equipment. 6. Collects trash from receptacles through the buildings. 7. Cleans and washes glass surfaces, ceilings, and walls. 8. Performs other related duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * High school diploma or equivalent * Current NJ Black Seal License * Custodial or housekeeping experience * Experience in operating machinery related to custodial activities * Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Ability to work under minimal supervision SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. 40 Hours per Week Half-Hour Lunch Shift differential of $3,132 RETIREMENT: Pension Eligible Any Middlesex College employee hired after September 1, 2011 will have to meet the New Jersey residency law requirement.

Responsibilities

The Boiler Custodian performs routine checks of the College’s boilers and cleans designated work locations. Additional duties include moving furniture, collecting trash, and maintaining cleanliness of various surfaces.
