Description Position Title: Boiler Plant Operator Reports to: Operations Manager Location: Nashville, TN Employment Status: Full-Time FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Position Summary: Aldevra is currently seeking a qualified Boiler Plant Operator to support the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Nashville, TN. This position is contingent upon contract award. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Start-up and shut down of boiler(s) Maintenance and repair required for boilers, safety device testing required, log pressures daily, and watch/maintain pressure alarms and gages. Not limited to these requirements. Regular maintenance on Hot Well Tanks/Pumps Maintain Deaerator (DA) tank Operation of plant equipment and controls Collecting, recording, and documenting of plant operations Routine equipment maintenance Preparation of equipment for inspections Operation and testing of all safety devices and control equipment Operation of emergency generators Facility monitoring Perform monthly (PM’s) preventative Maintenance All other tasks as required by VA for utility systems operators. Requirements Security Requirements: Must be able to maintain VA Badge. This position requires passing an extensive background check. Qualifications: Must have 5 years of prior experience each working, installing, servicing, and operating up to 2,500hp high pressure steam boilers Must be certified under the following courses and training: OSHA 10 Safety Testing/BEI Video training (onsite completion before working independently) Auto flame Factory Trained Aerco Factory Trained Direct Logic Factory Trained C-More Factory Trained Confined Space Entry VHA Safe Steaming’ Course 360 Training – Boiler Operator Certification Requires a minimum of 90-day onsite training before an employee will be deemed as a fully Qualified Boiler Plant Operator (BPO) able to independently operate or maintain the Boiler Plant Operations to the full extent of required capabilities.
