We are seeking an experienced and motivated Leading Hand Boilermaker/Welder to join our workshop team.

This is a hands-on role suited to a trade-qualified Boilermaker/Welder who has demonstrated leadership ability and supervisory experience within a fabrication or manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping coordinate workshop activities, supporting team members and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

About the Role

Working closely with the Workshop Manager and Supervisors, you will:

  • Lead and support a team of fabrication and welding personnel
  • Assist with the day-to-day supervision of workshop activities
  • Coordinate workflow to meet production schedules
  • Carry out fabrication and welding work as required
  • Ensure work is completed to required quality standards
  • Promote and maintain safe work practices
  • Lead by example and foster a positive team culture
  • Assist with training and mentoring apprentices and less experienced employees

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A relevant trade qualification as a Boilermaker/Welder
  • Extensive welding and fabrication experience
  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings
  • Previous experience in a Leading Hand, Supervisor or similar role, or demonstrated experience supervising small teams
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Proven ability to lead by example and support team performance
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality
