POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and organized BOM & Catalog Data Specialist to manage and maintain product data across our ERP system. This role is responsible for the creation and maintenance of accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), enforcement of standardized naming conventions, and overall item catalog integrity for all new and existing items.
You will work cross-functionally with teams including Product Development, R&D, Purchasing, Planning, Operations, and Quality to ensure item and BOM data supports efficient, accurate, and error-free sourcing, production, and fulfillment.
This position plays a critical role in maintaining correct product configurations, preventing procurement mistakes, and supporting overall operational efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Oracle or others) in a BOM or item master data role.
  • Strong understanding of BOM structures, item master data, and product lifecycle processes.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage complex product data accurately.
  • Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with SQL, PLM systems, or data analysis tools is a plus.
  • High attention to detail with excellent documentation and data integrity practices.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or product-based environment is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage consistent and scalable naming conventions across all item types in the ERP system (raw materials, components, sub-assemblies, finished goods).
  • Oversee the item creation process, ensuring all item master records are complete, accurate, and aligned with internal standards.
  • Build and maintain structured, multi-level Bills of Materials (BOMs) for both new and existing products.
  • Support Change Requests (CRs) and product lifecycle updates with timely and precise BOM revisions.
  • Serve as the central point of coordination for BOM updates within the ERP system.
  • Ensure data accuracy and completeness to prevent errors that could impact procurement, manufacturing, or delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Development, R&D, Planning, Purchasing, Operations, and Quality to gather correct BOM and item data.
  • Conduct regular audits and clean-ups of ERP catalog data to eliminate duplicates, outdated records, and inconsistencies.
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to BOM creation, item setup, naming conventions, and data change control.
  • Assist with ERP improvements, data migrations, and system integration projects involving item and catalog data.
  • Monitor and report on data quality KPIs, supporting continuous improvement in data governance and accuracy.
