  • Proficiency in WMS (e.g., JDE, AIMS) and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to interpret customs documents (e.g., C88 forms, commercial invoices).
  • Language:
  • Fluent English (CEFR B1+ minimum) for documentation and communication with authorities.

  • Attention to detail (critical for customs compliance).

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

To manage the end-to-end operations within a UK Customs Bonded Warehouse, ensuring compliance with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) regulations while handling the receipt, storage, and dispatch of imported/exported goods under customs suspension.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Customs Compliance & Documentation
  • Process inbound/outbound shipments in accordance with HMRC bonded warehouse procedures.
  • Verify customs declarations (e.g., EORI numbers, customs codes) and maintain audit trails for all goods.
  • Prepare and submit required reports to HMRC via systems like CDS (Customs Declaration Service).
  • Inventory & Stock Control
  • Perform daily cycle counts and annual stock audits to ensure 100% inventory accuracy.
  • Manage stock locations using WMS (Warehouse Management Systems), e.g., JDE or SAP.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in stock levels or documentation5.
  • Physical Operations
  • Unload/load containers using MHE (Material Handling Equipment), e.g., forklifts (certification required).
  • Handle goods with care, including temperature-sensitive or high-value items (e.g., pharmaceuticals, electronics).
  • Maintain warehouse safety standards under HSE guidelines, including PPE compliance.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Liaise with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and transport teams to ensure timely clearance and dispatch.
  • Support customs inspections and provide documentation as required by HMRC.
