Residents will work under the supervision of an RT or CBDT in providing bone densitometry exams per physician orders. Position will offer eligibility for certification after 3 months of approved clinical and didactic experience. Residents will train for 3 months (12 weeks) in the assigned area. At 90 days of successful program participation, the resident will be eligible to apply for the ISCD certification examination. COHORT WILL RUN FROM August 10th-October 30th (12-WEEKS) A training position preparing individuals to gain ISCD (International Society for Clinical Densitometry) certification. Residents will work under the supervision of an RT or CBDT (proctor) in providing bone densitometry exams per physician orders. Position will offer eligibility for certification after 3 months of approved clinical and didactic experience. Residents will train for 3 months (12 weeks) in the assigned area. (Meridian Mark, Johns Creek, East Cobb/Marietta Imaging (for Atlanta BCC), and/or Riverstone (Canton). At 90 days of successful program participation, the resident will be eligible to apply for the ISCD certification examination. Exam must be taken by October 30th. If selected to move forward, please understand that you will be FULLY VACATING your existing position at Northside and FULLY TRANSFERRING to this full-time, 12-week RESIDENCY PROGRAM. Attendance is strictly monitoried and any previously scheduled PTO and/or time away will not be approved or granted. Qualifications REQUIRED High school diploma, equivalent education (GED), post-secondary education or (1) one year work experience. PREFERRED Experience in a Radiology setting Willingness to provide direct care to patients of all demographics and those with infectious diseases. Ability to deal tactfully and pleasantly with various types of patients, visitors, physicians and other personnel. Ability to perform clinical bone density exams according to proper standards and regulations. Work Hours (EX:7AM-7PM): 8-430 Weekend Requirements: No On-Call Requirements: No
Responsibilities
Residents will perform bone densitometry exams under the supervision of a certified professional to gain clinical and didactic experience. The goal is to prepare the individual for the ISCD certification examination within a 12-week program.
