JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper or Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP, and will be proficient in QuickBooks Online. This role is diverse in nature and involves managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, payroll processing, tight AR/AP management and providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making processes.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper or accountant (minimum 3–5 years preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Desire and ability to have an important seat at the table for company performance related discussions and planning
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or related field is an asset; professional designation (CPA or equivalent) preferred but not required
    Job Type: Part-time
    Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 14 – 20 per week

Responsibilities
  • Assume the point of contact for financial related matters
  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries
  • Exercise an analytical approach to data and information to expedite realization of strengths and weaknesses within the company’s performance
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements on a regular basis
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports
  • Some analysis as required
  • Prepare payroll processing and ensure compliance with statutory requirements and tax regulations
  • Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems In accordance with GAAP
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
  • Collaborate closely with management to provide financial insights and recommendations
  • Liaise with external accountants, auditors, tax advisors and business partners as needed
