Job Title: Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant (AAT Level 3 preferred, Level 2 considered with experience)
Location: Medway (Hybrid available after probation)
Hours: Part-time – 20-24 hours per week
Salary: Max 18,720 per year (24 hours per week - pro rata) + pension + company sick pay

The Role
We are looking for a motivated Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant to join our growing team. This is a varied role supporting a broad client base, with opportunities to develop and progress.

Responsibilities
  • Bookkeeping for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns
  • Processing self-assessment tax returns
  • Supporting the preparation of year-end accounts and CT600s
  • Handling simple payroll, CIS returns, and pension submissions
  • Producing in-year profit and loss reports and supporting management accounts
  • Assisting with client onboarding and day-to-day queries
  • Using QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Excel, payroll systems, and in-house spreadsheets

About You

  • AAT Level 3 (preferred) or AAT Level 2 with practice experience (considered)
  • Confident with bookkeeping, VAT, payroll, and self-assessments
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • A proactive, positive attitude with great communication skills
  • Enjoys working as part of a supportive team and building long-term client relationships
