OVERVIEW

A growing Chartered Certified Accountants practice is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and provide high quality bookkeeping and payroll support to our clients in a dynamic environment. The role includes taking responsibility for a portfolio of varied industry clients and take responsibility of the job from start to finish.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong knowledge of double entry
  • Proven experience from an Accounting practice
  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper in a similar role within an accounting practice.
  • Experience in dealing with Sage, Xero, and QuickBooks
  • Work accurately and quickly with an eye for detail.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
  • Ability to work with high volume of data and organise the work schedule
  • Perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism.
  • Good computer skills working with Sage, Excel, Outlook, Word
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing is extremely essential.
  • Maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • AAT level 2 as a minimum

Responsibilities
  • Dealing with financial paperwork, various administrative tasks and filing.
  • Invoice postings
  • Maintaining Sales and Purchase ledgers and reconciliation of debtors and creditors and other accounts on Sage for various clients in multiple currencies
  • Liaise extensively with clients and resolve various queries
  • Cash transactions and bank reconciliations.
  • Bank postings and reconciliations.
  • Preparation, completion and submission of VAT Returns and meet strict deadlines
  • Payroll, pensions and CIS
  • Review of postings, VAT and work of other team members before being sent to clients for approval
  • Assist in resolving clients’ queries and speaking with HMRC to resolve any discrepancy and advising clients on payments of VAT, payroll and CIS
  • Take full responsibility to ensure that all filings are completed and meet strict deadlines.
  • Assist seniors in preparing financial statements for sole trader, partnerships and limited companies.
  • Assist in preparing self assessment tax returns
  • Provide support in preparing various reports, schedules and adhoc work that is required to maintain the high quality of work and support the firm partners and clients
