Description:

BOOKKEEPER/ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT

Due to ongoing expansion, Lydden Hill Race Circuit are recruiting for a bookkeeper/accounts administrator to work part-time in the office at Lydden Hill assisting with invoicing, reconciliation and other accountancy tasks.
Previous experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role is required along with a good knowledge of Xero accounting software. This position is for a minimum of 14 hours per week with the opportunity for overtime and hours to increase as the business grows.
This is a pivotal time for the circuit which is in the midst of rapid expansion which kicked-off in 2024 with the opening of our new tarmac access road, planting of 30,000 native tree saplings and an increase in the number of days the circuit is permitted to operate with a further £5,000,000 investment for a new VIP and office building being built next to the track.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will assist with the accounts for Lydden Hill Race Circuit, Lydden Hill Motorsport Club, Lydden Hill Medical and Rescue services, Lydden Hill Drivers club and the 5 Nations British Rallycross Championship with the following responsibilities;

  • Managing accounts payable, including the processing of invoices via automated accounting software.
  • Managing cash flow and payment runs
  • Managing accounts receivable including raising invoices
  • Reconciling the accounts using Xero software
  • Assisting with the creation of budgets
  • Preparing event P&L’s and monthly management accounts using Xero
  • Liaising with our external accountants to prepare VAT returns and end of year accounts
  • Cashing up and managing all banking after events
  • Answering accounts queries via email and phone from both suppliers and customers.
  • Assisting with stock takes when required
