Position Overview: The Bookkeeper will maintain accurate financial records, manage multi-currency bookkeeping, support month-end and year-end close activities, ensure compliance with international accounting requirements, and collaborate with finance teams and external stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions. Key Responsibilities General Ledger & Transaction Processing Record and reconcile daily transactions, maintain the general ledger, and ensure journal entries are accurate and timely. Multi-Currency Accounting Manage multi-currency transactions, revaluations, and translation adjustments; maintain currency exposure records and support hedging documentation where applicable. Accounts Payable & Receivable Process vendor invoices and payments, manage customer invoicing and collections, reconcile supplier and customer accounts, and resolve discrepancies. Bank & Cash Management Reconcile bank accounts across multiple banks and currencies, monitor cash positions, and prepare cash flow summaries for finance leads. Month-End & Reporting Support Prepare and post month-end and period-end journal entries (accruals, prepayments, deferrals), support close activities, and provide supporting schedules for management and external reporting. Compliance & Controls Ensure adherence to internal controls, company accounting policies, and relevant local and international regulations (e.g., VAT/GST, withholding taxes); support audits and tax filings as required. Intercompany & External Stakeholder Coordination Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations, liaise with external accountants, banks, and tax advisors, and support cross-border payment processes and documentation. Process Improvement & Systems Contribute to continuous improvement of bookkeeping processes, standard operating procedures, and use of accounting systems (ERP/cloud accounting); assist with system implementations and data migrations. Qualification: Education & Certification Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional bookkeeping or accounting certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, AAT) is a plus. Work Experience 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience with demonstrable exposure to international or multi-entity finance operations, multi-currency transactions, and cross-border payments. Technical Skills Proficient with cloud accounting systems or ERPs (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, SAP Business One) and advanced Excel skills. Experience with payment platforms, bank portals, and FX tools preferred. Language & Communication Fluent English required. Clear, professional communication skills and experience collaborating with international teams and external advisors. Core Competencies Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy. Solid understanding of accounting principles and period-end routines. Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently in a remote or distributed environment. Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify and implement process improvements. High ethical standards and respect for confidentiality. Team & Location Work closely with a small, collaborative finance team and cross-functional partners across regions.
