This is a remote position. Location: Remote Schedule: Part-Time (Monday to Friday, 20 hours per week | Flex time | 6 hours on Mondays and Fridays, 4 hours on Tuesdays and Thursday | off on Wednesdays) Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper — preferably a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) — who has experience or a strong willingness to learn about medical or dental clinic accounting and California state laws. The ideal candidate is proactive, independent, and a fast learner who can manage daily bookkeeping tasks, ensure compliance with California tax regulations, and assist in transitioning from general bookkeeping to tax preparation. ​ Key Responsibilities: Manage day-to-day bookkeeping functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations. Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks. Ensure compliance with California state tax laws and regulations. Assist in the transition from standard bookkeeping to tax preparation and filing processes. Prepare financial reports, balance sheets, and profit and loss statements. Support medical/dental billing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial entries. Collaborate with management to improve financial workflows and record-keeping systems. Maintain confidentiality of all financial and client-related information. Qualifications: CPA license preferred Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, ideally in a medical, dental, or healthcare setting. Strong understanding of California tax laws and compliance requirements. Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace. Knowledge or experience in medical/dental billing is a plus. Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
