JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced bookkeeper. The candidate will work under the comptroller/accountant managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role requires proficiency in accounting software and a strong understanding of financial principles.

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Experience with payroll processing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, account analysis, and account reconciliation is highly desirable.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills are a must.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week

Responsibilities
  • Perform day-to-day bookkeeping: AP/AR, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close
  • Maintain general ledger and financial records
  • Assist with payroll data entry and coordination
  • Interact with students for tuition payments, account inquiries, and financial aid support
  • Collaborate with the Accountant to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance
  • Support audit preparation and documentation as needed
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections..
  • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero for efficient financial management.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for management review.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
  • Maintain organized documentation for all financial transactions and audits.
  • Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports.
