JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role requires proficiency in various accounting software and a strong understanding of financial concepts. The Bookkeeper will play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations and contributing to the overall success of the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, with a solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, or Xero is essential.
  • Familiarity with public accounting practices and governmental accounting is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of financial concepts, including debits & credits, account reconciliation, and technical accounting.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in data entry (10 key typing).
  • Ability to prepare financial reports and perform budget analysis effectively.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
  • A degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred but not required based on experience. Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, or Xero.
  • Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, including budgeting and forecasting.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial data.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and relevant regulations.
  • Assist with payroll processing and tax-related tasks as needed.
  • Provide account analysis and support for both corporate and non-profit accounting activities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support financial decision-making processes.
