Description

A Bookkeeper is required to join a large private landlords and developers based in Southampton.
We are looking for a skilled bookkeeper to record all financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts and payments. You will be required to post information to their property software and sage accounting software and reconcile accounts to ensure their accuracy.
Responsibilities

Your daily ‘to do’ list will generally look something like this:

  • Receive purchase invoices and process, get approval when necessary, investigates company accounts payable invoices.
  • Prepare payment run - identify invoices due for payment, chase unauthorised invoices
  • Manage online banking facility and processing of all approved payments via online banking;
  • Reconcile supplier statements
  • Completion of bank reconciliations and timely and accurate reconciliation of the balance sheet;
  • Completion of intercompany/related reconciliations
  • Keeps track of company assets.
  • Handles company mail.
  • Prepares appropriate schedules and reports as requested by Directors and Accountants.
  • Prepare company payrolls.
  • Assists accountants on tax return preparation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned from time to time by accountants or partners.

Requirements:

  • Proven bookkeeping experience
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements of processing payroll accounting transactions and payroll returns.
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and sage software
  • Proficiency in English and in MS Office
  • Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good concentration
  • An eye for detail and ability to work to deadlines
  • A qualification in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
  • To be honest, discreet and trustworthy and Good at problem-solving

Hours of work required Monday to Friday 9am-6pm open to discussion

Pay: £24,500.00-£31,000.00 per year
