JOB POSTING – FULL CHARGE BOOKKEEPER / HR & PAYROLL / ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST

Location: Martinsville, VA (Remote, occasional in-person meetings as needed, must live within 60 miles of Martinsville, VA)
Compensation: $50,000–$60,000 annually (based on experience)
Job Type: Full-time | Monday–Friday

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of bookkeeping and payroll experience
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and payroll regulations
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams); Paylocity experience a plus
  • HR experience in recruiting, employee relations, and compliance preferred
  • Prior administrative experience with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision
  • Alignment with Done Deal’s core values: Hungry, Humble, Smart
  • Construction experience a plus
  • Property management experience helpful but not required

Responsibilities

Bookkeeping & Accounting:

  • Manage accounts payable/receivable and journal entries
  • Reconcile bank statements and maintain the general ledger
  • Prepare monthly financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow)
  • Month-end close activities, including accruals and amortizations

Payroll & HR:

  • Process full-cycle payroll (multi-state experience a plus)
  • Maintain employee records and HR compliance documentation
  • Support onboarding, benefits coordination, and employee relations
  • Assist with recruiting efforts and performance management tracking

Administrative Support:

  • Provide general administrative assistance to leadership and team members
  • Manage scheduling, emails, and correspondence
  • Assist with document preparation, filing, and recordkeeping (digital and physical)
  • Coordinate virtual meetings and maintain calendars
  • Support special projects as assigned
  • Compliance & Reporting
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP and HR regulations
  • Prepare payroll, HR, and administrative reports as required
  • Collaborate with management to streamline processes and improve efficiency
