JOB OVERVIEW

We are a Chartered Professional Accountants firm in Langley with a team of 14 in multiple offices looking for a full-time bookkeeper to help us service our clients in a variety of industries.

Responsibilities:

  • Full cycle bookkeeping for multiple companies (including accounts payable and accounts receivable duties)
  • Ensure that all bookkeeping is accurate, up to date, and organized for many of our clients
  • Prepare payroll calculations, GST, PST and WCB returns and remittances
  • Carry out month-end closing and year end preparation
  • Meeting tight deadlines as required
  • Communicating with clients and government agencies in a professional manner
  • Perform multiple entity (intercompany) account reconciliations
  • Participate in internal reporting functions and processes
  • Support and implement team objectives as required
  • Follow all standard operating procedures, policies and departmental guidelines
  • Setting up client files and managing filing systems
  • Scanning documents and organizing working papers

Qualifications:

  • Ability to do full cycle bookkeeping is a must
  • Strong knowledge of accounting concepts and processes
  • Strong proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Office (especially Microsoft Excel) and QuickBooks
  • A working understanding of other software including QB Online, Xero, Accountedge and Sage.
  • Familiarity with CaseWare and TaxCycle is a bonus
  • Post-Secondary education would be preferred either the Bookkeeping certificate/Diploma in accounting or Degree in accounting.
  • Minimum 2 years relevant work experience, preferably in an accounting environment or involving bookkeeping or financial accounting
  • Fluent in English (proven communication effectiveness both written and verbal)
