Job Title: Bookkeeper / Junior Accounting Professional – Urgently Hiring
Pay: $60,000 – $70,000 annually, DOE
Hours: 1st shift, flexible between 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday–Friday
Start Date: ASAP
We are seeking a Bookkeeper / Junior Accounting Professional for a temp-to-hire or direct hire position for our client, a growing organization undergoing a major ERP transition located in Portland, ME. The Bookkeeper / Junior Accounting Professional will manage day-to-day accounting operations while supporting the company’s move from paper-based processes and SAGE 300 into NetSuite in 2026. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, collaborative, and excited to contribute to process improvement during this transition. This is a dynamic, growth-oriented opportunity located in Portland, ME.

AS A BOOKKEEPER / JUNIOR ACCOUNTING PROFESSIONAL, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

• Processing payroll through ADP
• Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Performing general accounting functions, including monthly closings
• Supporting process improvements to streamline workflows
• Handling paper-based systems such as manual POs and paper checks during the transition period
• Collaborating closely with the finance team and leadership

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

• Experience with payroll (ADP), AP, and AR
• General accounting experience, including monthly closing
• Familiarity with SAGE 300 preferred
• Exposure to ERP systems (NetSuite strongly preferred)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to adapt to change and embrace process improvements
• Detail-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills
