KELLY IS HIRING FOR A BOOKKEEPER IN STARKE, FL

Kelly is is seeking a dedicated Finance Secretary to manage the day-to-day financial operations of our church, academy, and preschool ministries. In this vital role, you will support faithful stewardship and smooth financial administration across all ministries, ensuring accurate recordkeeping and financial compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process accounts receivables from tithes, offerings, tuition, and funding sources
  • Accurately record and allocate income using QuickBooks and the appropriate chart of accounts
  • Ensure timely deposits and maintain detailed records
  • Enter and process accounts payable; pay invoices and bills for all ministries
  • Reconcile bank and investment accounts monthly
  • Prepare and communicate financial reports for the church Treasurer and Finance Committee
  • Maintain compliance with financial policies and procedures, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy
  • Assist in preparing budgets, financial statements, and year-end reports
  • Process payroll for church, academy, and preschool staff

Qualifications:

  • Bookkeeping Certificate or 5+ years’ experience with advanced financial reporting, payroll management, and basic taxation
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software (e.g., Sage)
  • Skilled in Excel, Word, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Detail-oriented organizational and recordkeeping abilities
  • Accurate keypunch and 10-key by touch proficiency
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with staff, ministry leaders, and committees
  • Experience in nonprofit or multi-departmental financial management is a plus
