JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing day-to-day accounting tasks, and ensuring compliance with Puerto Rico’s tax regulations and reporting standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum of 1 years of experience in administrative roles, specifically in accounting.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks with a minimum of 1-2 years of hands-on experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial record keeping.
  • Knowledge of Puerto Rico Tax Regulations (IVU, SURI, 480 forms, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred

  • Experience working in a regulated industry (e.g., retail, healthcare)
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update general ledgers and financial records
  • Track and follow up on payments, late fees, and deposit returns
  • Record day-to-day financial transactions including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments
  • Process invoices, expense reports, and accounts payable/receivable
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Assist with payroll processing and related government filings
  • Ensure compliance with local tax requirements (e.g., IVU, SURI, Hacienda reports)
  • Support external audits and internal financial reviews
  • Maintain organized digital and paper records for audit readiness
  • Organize and maintain the bookkeeping processes of the company, ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Monitor accounts to identify overdue payments and proactively contact debtors to arrange debt payoffs.
  • Receive payments through various channels, including mail, delivery service, and directly from clients.
  • Register payments accurately in the billing system and coordinate and prepare daily deposits.
