POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Trades, this part time position is focused on 4 key areas: Budgets for the Trades Dept, reconciling invoices, banking, accounts Payable and general financial related administrative duties. In each function the bookkeeper must ensure they are detail orientated. This position will also serve as a back-up to the Finance Officer to run payroll.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Record invoices using Ellucian/ Colleague software.
· Complete banking requisitions
· Journal entries
· Process travel advances
· Process employee claims for accommodations, living expenses, committee meetings, daycare, any emergencies, and participant costs.
· Ensure expenditures are approved by authorized personnel
· Prepare cheque requisitions for invoices
· Verify budgeted amount has been allocated for the preceding requests
· Maintain filing systems with hard copies of all documents
· Assist with preparing quarterly reports for internal and external reports
· Coordinate and liaise with Director of Trades

OTHER DUTIES

· Take personal responsibility to increase sensitivity, awareness, and implementation of Oshki-Wenjack’s cultural teachings and organizational practices in both professional conduct and work-related deliverables.
· Access and utilize Elders and Knowledge holders for teachings and guidance as it relates to work deliverables.
· Be prepared to work in conjunction with the philosophy and mandate of the Institute.
· Adhere to the Policies and Procedures as set by the Institute.
· Always maintain professionalism.
· Adhere to the Code of Ethics and positive relationship building.
· Regular attendance and conduct at work according to the requirements of Oshki-Wenjack’s Policies and Procedures.
