JOB SUMMARY

Rentech Garage is a busy independent garage that does MOTs, servicing and repairs. We are seeking a detail-oriented, organised and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role is crucial for the smooth operation of our financial processes and will require proficiency in various accounting software.

SKILLS

• AAT level 2 certificate in bookkeeping or ICB level 2 certificate in Bookkeeping
• A good understanding/knowledge of excel spreadsheets
• Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Xero accounting software
• Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general accounting principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Strong analytical skills with a problem-solving mindset.

• Maintain and update financial records using accounting software on Xero.
• Process accounts payable and ensure timely payments to suppliers and vendors.
• Reconcile bank statements and manage cash flow effectively.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and assist in the preparation of annual budgets.
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
• Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Complete VAT return
